Youth for the Climate
More and more people realise the urgency for climate action. The planet is suffering from human behaviour. The communities that want to change this are growing day by day. Since December 2018 several movements have developed all over the world. Especially youth is taking the lead.
Greta Thunberg is a Swedish, 16 year old, concerned citizen. She became known when she decided to strike every school day after the summer holidays until the Swedish parliamentary elections on September 9, 2018. Her goal was to draw attention to the threat of climate change.
In Belgium, Youth for Climate is marching every Thursday to demand a socially just and ambitious climate policy. A similar group has formed in Switserland and many other demonstrations are finding place all over the world, most of them inspired by Greta Thunberg and the currently growing movement.
