Our main aim is to educate the young generation about the importance of organic gardening and to teach gardening methods. Most of our students are from the city and they are not aware of plants and how to grow them. We give them a green space so that they can grow vegetables after having a group discussion.
We encourage the students to use organic fertilizers and educate them about the integrated farming methods.
The young kids love their garden and they take care of their plants very well. They were so excited about harvesting and sharing the salad they made with others that they call it " Happy Farming hours".
Students want to make herbal tea bags as their future project so they start growing basil, mint, turmeric and other herbs. They were so happy to share their farming stories with their family especially with their grandparents.
We are keeping an organic vegetable and medicinal garden in our school compound. Students are now working on a project to publish Taiwanese native folktales about nature and environment.
